Welcome aboard Melody! Here’s everything you need to know about what to bring for your time on the boat.
Luggage
Soft bags only. Please try not to bring hard luggage (valises sur roulettes) — use soft duffel bags or backpacks if possible. Rigid suitcases cannot fit in the cabins and have nowhere to be stored. A duffel bag can be folded and stowed once you’ve unpacked. Don’t buy a special bag though — anything soft works.
Clothing
- Comfortable clothes — evenings and nights can be cold even in the summer
- Bathing suits (2–3 sets, you’ll live in these)
- Light shorts and t-shirts
- One warmer layer (fleece or light jacket) for evenings
- Light rain jacket (windproof)
Footwear
- Non-marking shoes — sailing shoes or white-sole tennis shoes work well
- It is ok to be barefoot as well
- One pair of shoes for going ashore
- No black-soled shoes — they mark the deck permanently
Sun Protection
The reflected UV on the water is intense. Bring:
- SPF 50+ sunscreen (reef-safe preferred)
- Sunglasses (with a retainer strap so they don’t blow away)
- Sun hat (with chin strap)
- Lip balm with SPF
Personal Items
- Toiletries and medication if any
- Seasickness medication (take it before you feel unwell)
- Books (physical or digital)
- Any special food items you may need
- Waterproof phone case or dry bag
- Reusable water bottle
What’s Already in Your Cabin
You don’t need to bring:
- Bed linens, bed cover, and pillows
- Beach towel and bath towel
- Shower gel, shampoo, and soap
- Life jacket (harness), tether, sailing gloves, hat, beanie, headlamp, and flashlight
What NOT to Bring
- Hard suitcases (won’t fit)
- High heels or hard-soled shoes
- Excessive luggage — cabin storage is limited
- Anything you’d be devastated to lose overboard
Food
We will provision the boat before you join us. We will ask for your dietary restrictions in advance along with your preferences.
Internet
The boat is equipped with Starlink — so you will be connected… unless you don’t want to be.
